Image Walking through the alleys of the village, you may see an old lady holding an incensory in her hand, blessing the narrow street, and then placing it carefully on her windowsill. She will greet you, and invite you in to have some cold water and jam.
Having been built amphitheatrically, on the rise at the foot of Kefalos Hill, Marpissa is of great interest, as far as urban planning is concerned.
It has beautiful mills, old houses, alleys, arches, and of course, churches.
Although Marpissa is a mountainous village, there are some wonderful beaches surrounding it, as well as some very charming settlements, such as Pisso Livadi, Punda Beach, Logaras, Tserdakia, Messada, Golden Beach, Drios, Pirgaki, Lolantonis, and Glifa.
