The festival of Holy Mary is a highlight of the summer and is combined with cultural demonstrations. The City Committee, responsible for the cultural Development, organizes concerts and 'island nights' with songs and dances throughout the summer.
On the 21st of November a great feast is held in the Monastery of Holy Mary Kondiani, at the Presentation of the Virgin. In Marmara the birth of the Virgin Mary is celebrated on the 8th of September with a festival and various entertainments.

The locals of Agairia, as well as those of Lefkes and Kostas are famous for their feasts and entertainment.
The celebration of St. George is held on the first Sunday after Easter. In Agairia, the mass is followed by a communal feast.
On the 26th and 27th of June, St. John is celebrated, and the old Greek custom of Klidonas is revived. People light fires on the beach of Aliki to burn wreaths that were woven on the 1st of May. The mass is held in the small church on the road to St. Theodori. Afterwards people give each other homemade treats, before livening up the festivities with traditional music and dancing.
On the 6th of August, the feast of Christ, our savior is celebrated. A feast of fish takes place in Aliki, where everyone, locals and visitors alike can enjoy fresh fish, Suma (local alcoholic drink), and local wine. Finally on the 14th of September, the feast of the Holy Cross takes place in Agairia, in the church of St. Giorgos, the main church of the village.

During the festival of the Holy Spirit, which lasts three days, the church of the Holy Trinity in Lefkes holds a celebration to which the masses attend. A feast and religious demonstrations also take place.
On the 29th of August a feast in held in the monastery of St. Ioannis Kaparos, which is set in a stunning location. The scenery is full of ocean, vegetation, vineyards, and cherry trees, and in the surrounding fields you can find mushrooms and snails in the winter time, and wonderful fresh greens in the summer.

The festival of St. Athanasios Parios is held on the 24th of June.
The festival of St. Marina is held on the 17th of July. The festival of St. Paraskevi is held in Marathi on the 26th of July and St. Panteliemonas is celebrated on the 27th of July.
